Milan win the big match game against Napoli at San Siro with score 3-0

“Tonight the team reminded me of the Milan side of 20 years ago... It was a fundamental game, we knew it, now another one awaits us on Saturday. The team played well, we allowed Napoli only one shot on goal, eventually saved by Abbiati. Jankulovski’s performance was a pleasant surprise. He spent more than an hour on the field and did quite well. He played very well after a long absence. I want to congratulate the whole team. I liked Van Bommel’s performance as well. I try not to be banal, because we all know who the others are, worthy of praise... so I want to congratulate most of all Jankulovski and Van Bommel and the whole team. Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Silva were extraordinary. Thiago is an extraordinary defender. It’s been a long period now that the substitutes have contributed to team’s success in a big way. The starters do a good job, but also the players from bench do their part. For instance, Emanuelson did well after coming on. Boateng’s runs were simply deadly. Patinho scored a marvellous goal... Pato has always been a magnificent player, his goal/minutes played ratio is extraordinary.
Ibra always fights like a lion. I must say De Sanctis made three miraculous saves.
The president didn’t come out of respect for the Italian soldier who died in Afghanistan today. If there’s someone who has done his best for Naples, starting from the issue of the refuse, it’s him. I’m sure he wouldn’t say anything offensive against Naples.
With this win we extended our lead at the top of the standings. Now we have a five-point advantage. Up to now we had a three-point lead, but now it’s five.
The public was much warmer than in the Champions League against Tottenham. This means that the fans really want the league title.
We’ve been leading the league for a long time. Now there are 11 more games left to play. We have a five-point advantage ahead of the second-placed, six ahead of the third-placed and ten ahead of the fourth. And whatever happens in the next round, we’ll keep the first place“.

“The team did well, we played well. We didn’t sit back after taking the lead early in the second half. I’m satisfied with Jankulovski’s performance. It was the first time he started a game this season. Seeing how he played, perhaps it was a mistake not to play him before.
Despite tonight’s result, three teams will fight it out for the title, because Napoli are trailing Inter only by one point and the championship is still long. The important thing is that we won this evening.
I prefer fielding Boateng right behind the strikers, even if he could also play in the three-man midfield. But for the latter he’s still a bit immature…
Juventus are going through a difficult period, but teams tend to regroup in times of difficulty, so it will be a tough game on Saturday”.

“Not only me, but the whole team did well. Now I’m only focusing on training hard, doing what the boss asks from me and helping my teammates. I just want to play. Before our second goal, I passed to Boateng, because I saw him bursting into the area so I gave him the ball. I’m happy for his goal. This is a great evening, I’m pleased, because I played and I ran a lot. We got three important points against Napoli, but now we have to look ahead to the upcoming game against Juventus. We have to get as many points as possible in every single match. We have to do well and concentrate on ourselves. I’m glad, because I managed to do what the boss asked me in training, but now we have to turn the page and start thinking about the next challenge. On Tuesday I trained instead of relaxing, because I want to play and help my teammates.
I have a great relationship with Cassano, we’re great friends. Everyone knows he’s a nice guy. Antonio has a big heart. Thiago is an extraordinary player and he’s focused on doing his job. He’s a great guy both on and off the field and I’m happy for what he’s doing at Milan.
In Verona I pulled off my shirt when I was celebrating. I didn’t do it out of anger, but because I was overjoyed to have scored on the 25th anniversary of the Berlusconi presidency”.

We’re professionals, we’re at Milan, we’re an excellent team, therefore we always must train as hard as possible and sooner or later everyone will get the chance to play. Because of this, I’ve always worked hard and today has been a really good day for me as it was such a great feeling to hear the fans chant my name at the San Siro after such a long time.
Napoli are a great team, but this evening we dominated the whole game and didn’t give them anything.
We all hope to keep our first place until the end of the season, but there’s still a long road to go. We can’t take anything for granted. Our rivals don’t give up and another difficult game awaits us on Saturday”.
